Volunteers Get More Value:
It's easy to volunteer! From an hour or so here and there to a more involved position on a Committee or the Board, your commitment has rewards!
LEVELS

Chairperson - Working with the programming committee and board, sets programming calendar and budget. Liaises with sister communications associations. Attends monthly board meetings and chairs programming committee meetings/conference calls. Work with committee members to develop quarterly "marquis" events. Approve distribution of Chapter Program Update E-Mail. Time commitment: 10-15 hours per month.

Vice Chair (1) - Working with the programming chair, sets the calendar for the chapter's TGIT program. Should program 1 TGIT event him/herself and work with committee to assist in planning others. Assist in planning quarterly program activities. Attend board meeting in place of Chairperson when necessary. 8-10 hours per month.

TGIT Organizer (2-4) - Responsible for developing program along the theme, including inviting and securing speakers. Develop marketing postcard. Responsible for developing (or working with Chapter Communications Chairperson to develop) press releases and copy for chapter newsletter and e-mail update. Work with chapter webmistress to get items posted well in advance of program date. Time commitment Provides program communications person with information and speaker bios to write news release and promotional material and speaker gifts. Writes a one page summary of the event for posting to the website. Time commitment: 3-6 hours in advance of event plus staffing event (3-4 hours).

Event Organizer (1-2) - Work with programming chair to develop quarterly program, including event theme, including inviting and securing speakers, securing location and food, and speaker gifts. Provides program communications person with information and speaker bios to write news release and promotional material. Work with chapter webmistress to get items posted well in advance of program date. Time commitment Time commitment: 3-6 hours in advance of event plus staffing event (2.5 hours). If not videotaped, writes a one page summary of the event for posting to the website. Time commitment: 6-8 hours in advance of event plus staffing event.

Event Greeters (2-4) Staff registration table and assist in welcoming members to event. Collect program payments and issue receipts. Assist in program set-up and break down. Time commitment: 2-3 hours/month.
